YOU HAVE TO SEE THIS VIDEO…seriously.

Ok. So Amy is out of town – at the Faith Ladies retreat – and I’m a dad who enjoys his kids so I’m covering things at home without complaining. But let’s be honest, sometimes the kids can really stretch you.

This morning, however, I have to praise them for being thoughtful. They came in this morning with this…and it probably bought them another day or two of life.

What if we were named for what we did? For starters, if we were named for what we did then three year olds could name everyone.

Tonight my three year old came in the kitchen while I was washing dishes and said, “Daddy, we should call her “pottie” (her being Sophie, our puppy). Because that is all she does anyways.”

Simple. Genius.

Started the new year right.

The boys and I were in charge of breakfast, watched some Rose Bowl (parade – I have three females in the house), watched the first Antonio Treatment while spooning up some homemade potato soup (Antonio is HGTV’s newest design star…I’m secure), started a new Chronological “through the Bible in one year” plan, then put two bulletin boards up in the boy’s room. And it’s only 3:35! Of course my days are longer now that Sophie the dog sings to me before the silly sun comes up, although she did give me slightly more time this morning…

Here’s to a year filled with tons more family time, creative genius and a super fantastic connection with my Daddy of all time.

So I’m typing this from my Christmas present from Amy – my iPhone!!

Ok, now that I’ve covered that – the rest of the family have has a great couple of days as well. We’ll upload some photos and videos later – it has been a really great week complete with the kids choir on Sunday, the Summerville Christmas parade (which Audrey and Austin were able to be in), the Festival of lights, family galore, tons of food and some killer presents…it has been great.
