This is part three of a series of questions for us to walk ourselves through. If you haven’t read the first two, do so before moving on to this list.
The questions for today are more about our leadership…which is tough for a lot of people.
• Do I plan far enough ahead so others can follow?
• Do I respect dissenting opinions?
• Have I become content with lesser goals than my potential would allow?
• Do I still have compassion for lost people?
• What is my number one calling in this life right now?
And a thought for today – “If you are afraid of failure you will never be a person of faith.”

The previous post began a list of questions we should all ask at the beginning of this year – and throughout the year actually. If you have read and answered the previous list, add these to your time of reflection today.
These are deeply personal and challenging – don’t skim over them or the ramifications of their answers.
• Am I more desirous of security than personal sacrifice?
• Have I allowed ministry to callous my heart?
• Do I still love people?
⁃ Love is demonstrated when we give ourselves up
⁃ If I forget the least of the people I no longer deserve the ministry
• Do I still have a passion?
• Am I reactive or proactive in ministry?
• Do I speak more about excuses than my God dream?
• Do I even know the dream or vision God has for my life?
• Can I still hear God’s voice and obey with fear and trembling?
Chew on these for a while…I have been.

Amy and I have spent the last couple of days at a breakaway thing being taught and getting some rest before the year kicks off. It has been really nice – we hardly ever really get away…I like it.
One of the sessions we learned from included a list of questions directed at spiritual leaders. Things they should consider and get clarity on before moving on to try and help/build disciples of Jesus. But, believing that we are all moved by God to specific places – some inside church walls and many more outside the church walls – I wanted to post the questions here. Take some time and walk through them. Remember we are all called to tell Jesus’ story and make disciples, whether we work in a church, at a bank, work construction, fast food…
• Do I value the privilege of being in ministry?
• Have I allowed success to become an enemy?
• Do I keep myself sharp mentally?
• Do I stay connected to my field of ministry {my target group}?
• Am I prepared to make decisions of fairness and justness?
• Do I still have faith {or spirit of challenge and faith}?
• Do I still believe God “can”?
• Do I communicate that faith in God to other people?
If you feel like you don’t need to answer these you may need to start by resetting your view of what you are in the world to do. If they are hard to answer…wait until the next post, they just become more personal.
