What we have here is:
A Marxist running as a Democrat
A Democrat running as a Republican
And a situation where we all lose no matter what.
Thank you Mr. Michael Acree for saying it, and letting me post it.

So I’ve been on an unexpected blogging hiatus for a bit. Not for lack of things to share.
Let’s see:
- The kid’s had a two birthday parties to attend this month. They had a great time…and kids these days have great parties.
- Amy and I had a surprise date night {mad crazy thanks to Kendall for calling out of the blue and offering to watch the kids!!}
- My grandmother {mom’s mom} died this last week and we weren’t able to drive up to Michigan for the funeral – I hurt for my mom…
- Transit got preached at about the cross – something God gave me the Monday before the Wednesday and I thoroughly enjoyed teaching You have to watch the video that opened things up that night {here}.
- The church gave us a great time of appreciation this last Sunday – Thank you to everyone who helped and who has encouraged our family this last year {and beyond}. We are incredibly honored and grateful to be where we are, doing what God has us doing. Thank you!
- My brother {the responsible genius} is blogging…you must read it {here}
There has been more, but that’s enough for now…off to work!

Interruptions, tech things doing what they do {breaking} and so on…one of those days. The weekend is on its way though, and this one should be good.
Tomorrow the family is off to the Charleston Tea Plantation for a homeschool group field trip…then tomorrow night we are getting together with some couples from Faith for this month’s couples cafe’. Games, food and some couple time…with childcare, oh sweet childcare.
And Saturday? Well Saturday will probably be spent working on stuff for Sunday, but that’s ok. Could be worse – I could be the guy in this picture, his job looks pretty lame…or worse, I could still be in accounting.

That’s funny.
That’s how I feel about this video. Love it, hate it…it’s funny. And it is timely considering the big Apple reveal today…

Yesterday a friend of mine said he needed to meet me in my office – he found me while I was setting up for class – he said he had something to get off of his chest and he really needed to see me right then. I’m thinking {just being honest here} “wow, right before class…can’t wait??? really???” and then it hit me. This guy needs to talk and what he wants to talk about is more important than getting the dvd just right or starting right on time…so we walked to my office.
Turns out he wanted to give me a great hand-me-down tech gift! It is a great thing, but the best part, honestly, is that he thought about me enough to know that I 1) didn’t already have it and 2) I would really appreciate it. And finally, it meant a lot that he actually took the time to give it with style. Good friends are hard to come by in life – and even before this event he was one…this just makes it even better.
Isn’t it incredible what receiving a gift for no specific holiday or event can do to boost you? Well, maybe gifts aren’t your love language…but they are mine. I know it sounds terribly shallow but it is more of the idea that they were thinking about you when you weren’t around. Great when it happens with family, but there is something unique and awesome about it happening with a friend.
So give to your friends whenever you are able – they will appreciate it and it will remind them that you were thinking of them…which is loved.

{p.s. I’m so glad I didn’t act like a jerk and put him off}
