Leadership thoughts…from those who know.
Some people have studied leadership, conflict resolution, team building, ect; And some have lived life in leadership and figured out what is theory and what really works. I’ve recently had the opportunity to learn from people who have done both – so I thought I’d share just a couple of thoughts that have come my way.
“You can’t control how others respond, only how you respond.”
“Unity is more important on a team than individual talent. ”
“When I don’t spend time with God, it doesn’t matter what I do or don’t do, I’ll be flirting with burnout in no time at all. ”
“The higher you go on the leadership ladder, the less rights you have over your own time.”
There are more – and I am grateful that God is teaching me through the wisdom He has placed in other people. If you have some – send it my way! {I pretty much need all I can get.}

I’m learning to deal with things being expected of me on short notice – meanwhile trying {sometimes desperately} to get a head start on things I know are coming.
Subject switch: Amy and I were kicking around the idea of getting a goat {milk, great sounds to copy, etc;}, growing veggies in a garden and picking up a couple of chickens {eggs, gives the kids something to do}. I always said I should have been a farmer – but as we got online last night to research prices, how many produce how many eggs & gallons of milk I just laughed.
City boy moves to South Carolina, ten years later he’s starting a small family farm.
We won’t actually do this yet…{for quite a while and definitely not until we can’t be sued by an HOA} but don’t be suprised if someday you come visit and I have a great hat and some work boots for mucking out a stall of some sort.

The first of the most recent. I know, complicated. But I had to get back online blogging personal thoughts out of a love for keeping in contact with my peeps all over the world and a conviction that being in ministry should be a transparent thing.
Be patient as this thing builds and be honest and opinionated with your comments – I need some more honesty in my life!
